Hi there, I am Carol. I am a designer, visual artist, photographer and I would like to share with you some of my works.
El uso de diversas técnicas, materiales y soportes es una constante en mis proyectos. Me interesa la fusión de disciplinas como la fotografía, el diseño y la instalación para explorar un estado de fragilidad.
A menudo, lo autobiográfico atraviesa mi trabajo a través del autorretrato, fotografías de archivo familiar y la evocación de mis propias vivencias y mi vulnerabilidad.
Carol Galiñanes es artista visual, diseñadora gráfica y fotógrafa. En 2018 finalizó los Estudios Superiores de Fotografía en PIC.A PHOTOESPAÑA y se ha formado con artistas como Antoine D´Agata, Jorge Fuembuena, Juan Valbuena o Eduardo Nave. También ha estudiado Narrativa y Fotolibro y Fotografía de Autor con Elisa Miralles y Técnicas Experimentales de Laboratorio en La Casa Encendida de Madrid.
Es Diplomada en Diseño gráfico en la Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid y estudió Historia del Arte en la UAM y el Máster Universitario en Investigación y Creación de la facultad de BBAA en la Universidad Complutense (Madrid). Desde 2023 forma parte de la galería NFT “Contemporáneas “ del colectivo @comoserfotografa.
Creadora de Non Finito Ediciones junto a Anitta Klimt y Lucila Bodelón, un colectivo dedicado a la creación y materialización de fotolibros, fanzines y otras misceláneas realizadas por mujeres.

Mixing and experimentation are a constant in my projects, which are the result of using different techniques, materials and supports and the fusion of different disciplines.
My artistic work focuses on author photographic proposals and multimedia pieces; as well as in experimental artistic projects around the photobook and the relationships between photography and design.
Carol Galiñanes is a visual artist, graphic designer and photographer. In 2018 she finished her Higher Studies in Photography at PIC.A PHOTOESPAÑA and has trained with artists such as Antoine DÁgata, Jorge Fuembuena, Juan Valbuena or Eduardo Nave. She has also studied Narrative and Photobook and Author Photography with Elisa Miralles and Experimental Laboratory Techniques at La Casa Encendida in Madrid.
She holds a Diploma in Graphic Design from the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid and studied Art History at the UAM and the Master’s Degree in Research and Creation at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universidad Complutense (Madrid). Since 2023 she is part of the gallery NFT «Contemporáneas» of the collective @comoserfotografa.
Creator of Non Finito Ediciones together with Anitta Klimt and Lucila Bodelón, a creative collective dedicated to the creation and materialization of photobooks, fanzines and other miscellany made by women.
In 2025 has won two BIFA AWARDS in the categories fine art and editorial design. In 2024 she has been selected to exhibit at Photometría Photofestival in Greece and at the Olot Photography Biennial. She has also been finalist in Verzasca photofestival and Athens photofestival. His latest photobook design, «Latidoamérica» by Javier Arcenillas has been finalist in 2024 as best photography book of the year in PHOTOESPAÑA.
She has exhibited in the Official Section PHOTOESPAÑA in 2023 and 2024, and has participated in ARCO MADRID 2025, PHOTOFORUM FEST BCN, Matadero de Madrid, Central de Diseño de Madrid, la Casa Encendida, Libros Mutantes, Museo del Romanticismo, Estampa Arte múltiple, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo or Miloska Center of Washington.
In 2023 she received the second prize in the self-published book category at the IPA (INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS, USA), and in 2021 she received a LUX Award (Association of Professional Photographers of Spain). She has been selected for DESCUBRIMIENTOS PHOTOESPAÑA 2024, 2023 and 2022 and in the 2023 AND 2019 editions, she was a finalist in the Albarracín Photography Seminar. He has also participated in photography festivals such as Les Rencontres d’Arles, Festival Ojos Rojos or Encuentros fotográficos de Gijón. Her last editorial design, the photobook «Racionalismo de Campo», has been published in 2023 by Kursala.
She has been awarded a grant twice in the ENCUENTROS contest of the CENTRO HUARTE DE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO DE NAVARRA, in the visual arts category.
